I got my inspiration for this painting from the painting at the St. Louis Art museum by John Martin English titled: “Sadak in Search of the Waters of Oblivion.”
That painting always reminded me of a dream I had when I was little of climbing a mountain and in the dream it was extremely hard. I told my grandmother about it the next morning and she said it was a spiritual dream.
I decided to recreate that painting in wax and change the guy into a girl. Using wax made a unique texture to the mountains and this painting took off on its on journey. The colors got more vivid and details become apparent. This was a fun one to create, enjoy…
