“Patiently, Waiting”

First I draw the image out in detail on museum grade archival Pastel paper. Then I add the soft pastels and build up layers gradually. I use soft pastel pencils to add each hair. I finish the piece by matting, framing and using a high end/ anti-glare/ UV protectant glass

The ancient Mayans, Inca, and Aztecs all worshipped Jaguars in some form. The native American meaning of Jaguar is, “One who kills with one blow.” It is representative of power, ferocity, and valor and that is why I chose to do a detailed soft pastel painting of his remarkable creature.
