“Rembrandt”

Inspiration & Technique

30 x 40; wax on wood
Before I ever became an artist I always admired his work. He did more self portraits (100+) than any other artists which documented his life. In this particular one he had just sold most of his assets and started his journey into poverty. I once read that one of his paintings weighed over 80 pounds. I hope I captured him because I truly felt connected as I put each drop of color on this piece.
